Washington, May 19 (SANA) Meta Platforms is rolling out new features for its Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses, including the ability to write messages using hand gestures, the company said.
The feature, powered by a neural wristband that detects hand movements, will be available across WhatsApp, Messenger, Instagram and native Android and iOS messaging systems, Meta said.
The gesture-based writing tool had previously been highlighted as a key feature of the device but was not available at launch. It was introduced in early access for WhatsApp and Messenger in January.
Meta is also introducing a “display recording” feature that allows users to capture video combining what appears on the lens display, the surrounding real-world view and ambient audio.
Walking directions are now available across the United States as well as in major international cities including London, Paris and Rome, the company said.
In addition, live captions will also be available for voice messages on WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger and Instagram Direct.
Meta has also opened developer preview access for the glasses, allowing developers to build and deploy web apps for the device.
