Washington, April 3 (SANA) Google is set to launch a new feature in its Chrome browser aimed at speeding up page loading and reducing data consumption, especially on media-heavy sites with videos and audio.
The update expands Chrome’s existing “lazy loading” technology, previously limited to images, to include videos and audio clips. With this approach, content only loads as users scroll near it, rather than loading everything upfront when a page opens.
The feature is designed to improve browsing performance, lower energy use, and provide a smoother experience, particularly on devices with limited processing power or slow network connections.
Developers will be able to enable the feature easily with a simple code addition, avoiding the need for complex JavaScript workarounds used in previous implementations.
Google plans to release the feature officially in Chrome 148, with availability also expected for Chromium-based browsers such as Microsoft Edge and Vivaldi.
