Beirut, Oct. 2 (SANA) Lebanon on Friday condemned a Houthi militia drone attack on an electricity distribution station in Medina, Saudi Arabia, calling it an attack on civilian infrastructure.
“We strongly condemn the Houthi militia’s targeting, using a drone, of an electricity distribution station in Medina,” the Lebanese Foreign Ministry said in a statement posted on X.
Maj. Gen. Turki al-Maliki, spokesman for the Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen, said Thursday that the Houthi militia targeted the Taiba electricity distribution station in Medina in the early hours of Sept. 29.
Al-Maliki said the station provides electricity services to the Prophet’s Mosque in Medina.
The attack drew widespread condemnation from Arab and Islamic countries, whose statements described it as a violation of international law and international humanitarian law, an attack on civilian infrastructure and an escalation threatening Saudi Arabia’s security and stability.
