Arab League condemns Damascus bombings, reaffirms support for Syria
Secretary-General of Arab League Nabil Fahmy

Cairo, July 8 (SANA) Arab League Secretary-General Nabil Fahmy condemned the twin terrorist bombings in Damascus on Tuesday, reaffirming the organization’s solidarity with Syria in its fight against terrorism.

In a statement posted on the Arab League’s X account, Fahmy described the attacks as a cowardly act aimed at undermining Syria’s efforts to strengthen security and stability, expand international engagement, and support economic recovery and reconstruction.

He reaffirmed the Arab League’s support for Syria’s efforts to combat terrorism, strengthen security and stability, and preserve the country’s sovereignty, while emphasizing the importance of cooperation with the international community to counter terrorism and disrupt its sources of financing and support.

The twin bombings near the Ministry of Tourism in Damascus on Tuesday killed one person and injured 36 others, prompting widespread international condemnation.
