Damascus, SANA- The media office of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ministry announced Wednesday that till now, no accurate information reported the news of the shelling targeted the Israeli territory, noting that several parties are seeking to destabilize the region to further their own interests.
“We affirm that Syria has not and will not pose a threat to any party in the region as a whole and that the top priority in southern Syria to extend the state authority and prevent the presence of weapons outside official authorities, to insure security and stability for all citizens”, the media office said in a statement to al-Ikhbariyah channel.
The statement strongly condemned the Israeli shelling of villages and towns in Daraa Governorate, which left human and material losses, stressing this aggression is a flagrant violation of Syrian sovereignty and escalates tensions in the region at a time we are most in need of peaceful solutions.
The ministry’s media office called on international community to hold its responsibilities and support efforts exerted to achieve security and stability to the Syrian territory and the whole region.
