Aleppo, Jan. 8 (SANA) The Aleppo governorate has extended the exit period for civilians and families trapped in Sheikh Maqsoud and al-Ashrafieh neighborhoods until 1:00 p.m. Thursday.
The move follows appeals form the families in both neighborhoods after the SDF organization prevented many residents from leaving on Wednesday in an attempt to use them as human shields to continue its operations against the army.
The governorate added that after coordination with the Syrian Arab Army, two humanitarian corridors were reopened, allowing civilians to reach safer areas in the city.
It added that residents wishing to leave the two neighborhoods can use the corridors at al-Awared and Zuhur Street. The evacuation is scheduled to last three hours, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
