A 3.7-magnitude earthquake struck Damascus countryside early Sunday morning, according to the National Earthquake Center.
In a statement posted on its official Facebook page, the center said the quake occurred at a depth of 8.8 kilometers, west of the town of Yabroud, at around 1:27 a.m. local time.
Residents in the Qalamoun region and parts of Damascus reported feeling the shaking, though there were no immediate reports of damage or casualties.
