Damascus, SANA- Minister of Local Administration and Environment, Mohammad Anjarani, said Thursday that memoranda of understanding signed yesterday on development and investment projects covering the housing, tourism, environment, and services sectors, come within the framework of the national plan to advance all sectors in various Syrian governorates.

The Minister pointed out to SANA that among the most prominent projects in Aleppo is Al-Haidariya Project, a $40 million strategic housing project to rebuild damaged neighborhoods in Aleppo city and the Engineers’ Mall, at a cost of $25 million, which is a commercial complex in the heart of the city, aiming to stimulate economic activity and enhance job opportunities.

In Hama governorate there will be “Wadi Al-Joz” Project, a modern residential and commercial suburb at a cost of $282 million to improve the housing situation in the governorate, the minister said.

The Minister added that Lattakia’s projects are the “View Project”, a seven-star tourist resort costing $3.5 million, reflecting the state’s commitment to supporting high-end tourism, and the “Marsa Shams” Project, a $150 million waterfront hotel and resort, which strengthens the city’s position as a tourist destination.

In Damascus, the Minister pointed to vital projects such as the construction of a Metro Damascus, costing $2 billion, and Baramkeh Towers project, an integrated residential, commercial, and tourist complex in the center of the capital, accompanied by supporting infrastructure projects costing $400 million.

Also, he referred to Marota Housing Project in Marota City, in Damascus which includes the construction of 25 alternative housing units in Basilia City at a cost of $160 million.

The Minister added that among Damascus’ projects are the establishment of a waste management project in Damascus at a cost of $300 million, and a project to construct hotels in Damascus at a cost of $30 million.

In Idlib governorate there will be projects as the environmental project at a cost of $57.5 million which is an advanced environmental facility to produce electricity, gas, and fertilizers from waste, within a sustainable vision.

The minister said that one of Homs projects is the Boulevard Project, an integrated residential and commercial project to reconstruct Homs city and establish a modern suburb with contemporary housing standards at a cost of $900 million.

He concluded that all these projects come within the framework of promoting investment, developing the national economy, creating job opportunities, and achieving sustainable development in all governorates.
