Five Palestinians killed and dozens injured by Israeli fire while waiting for aid in southern Gaza

Gaza, SANA – Five Palestinians were killed and dozens of others were injured on Sunday afternoon after Israeli occupation forces opened fire on civilians desperately waiting for food aid north of Rafah, in the southern Gaza Strip.

Since their establishment in late May, these so-called aid corridors have effectively become death traps, where starved civilians are exposed to sniper fire, drone attacks, and other forms of military assault, according to WAFA news agency.

The ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza from October 2023 to date has resulted in the deaths of at least 56,412 documented Palestinians, with more than 133,054 others injured.

Israel’s genocidal attacks continue unchecked despite UN Security Council calls for an immediate ceasefire and International Court of Justice directives urging measures to prevent genocide and alleviate the dire humanitarian situation in Gaza.
