69 killed in Israeli airstrikes on Gaza as UNRWA warns of thirst and death

Occupied Jerusalem, SANA – Sixty-nine Palestinians were martyred and dozens injured on Thursday as a result of airstrikes carried out by Israeli warplanes on several areas in the Gaza Strip.

The Palestinian News Agency (WAFA) reported that the shelling targeted the Al-Tuffah, Sheikh Radwan, and Al-Zaytoun neighborhoods in Gaza City, in addition to the Nuseirat camp, Wadi Gaza, and the city of Deir al-Balah in the central part of the Strip, as well as the cities of Khan Younis and Rafah in the south, and the Jabalia camp in the north. This resulted in a large number of martyrs and wounded, most of whom were women and children.

Palestinian medical sources reported that the number of Palestinian martyrs as a result of the ongoing Israeli aggression since October 7, 2023, has risen to 56,259, and more than 132,458 injured, with the toll expected to rise as the bombing and targeting of infrastructure continue.

In the same context, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) warned of an imminent humanitarian catastrophe as a result of the collapse of water systems in the Gaza Strip, due to the targeting of infrastructure and the prevention of fuel entry since last March. This has caused severe thirst that threatens the lives of residents, especially in camps crowded with displaced people.

The Israeli occupation army continues to wage an all-out war on the Gaza Strip, including bombing, starvation, systematic destruction, and forced displacement, in blatant defiance of all international humanitarian appeals and in disregard of the International Court of Justice’s orders calling for an end to hostilities.
