London, Aug. 6 (SANA)  The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) said Thursday it had received a report that two explosions were heard near an oil tanker while it was transiting the Strait of Hormuz, about nine nautical miles southeast of Kumzar in the Sultanate of Oman.

In a statement, UKMTO said the vessel’s master reported hearing the explosions and confirmed that all crew members were safe. The agency added that the tanker sustained no damage and that no environmental pollution had been reported.

UKMTO urged vessels transiting the area to exercise caution and report any suspicious activity. It did not disclose the cause of the explosions or their source.

The incident came hours after UKMTO reported receiving a separate notification of a loud explosion near another oil tanker approximately 95 nautical miles southeast of Aden, Yemen.
