Tokyo, July 3 (SANA) A 6.4-magnitude earthquake struck waters northwest of Miyakojima Island in Japan’s Okinawa Prefecture on Friday, the Japan Meteorological Agency said.
The agency said the quake was recorded at a lower 3 on Japan’s seven-point seismic intensity scale in Kume Island. No tsunami warning was issued.
The epicenter was located at latitude 26 degrees north and longitude 125.8 degrees east.
On Wednesday, a separate 6.0-magnitude earthquake struck off the coast of Iwate Prefecture in northeastern Japan.
