Damascus, July.3 (SANA) Türkiye, Iraq, Egypt, Qatar and Jordan on Thursday strongly condemned the bombing that targeted a café in Damascus’ al-Hijaz district, expressing solidarity with Syria and reaffirming their rejection of terrorism and violence against civilians.
Türkiye’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the attack in the strongest terms, saying it would continue to stand in solidarity with Syria during this period. The ministry said the strongest response to attempts to undermine Syria’s progress toward lasting security and stability would come from the Syrian people through preserving their unity and solidarity. It also extended condolences to the families of the victims and wished the injured a speedy recovery.
Iraq’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned what it described as a terrorist bombing, expressing its deepest condolences to the Syrian government and people and reaffirming Iraq’s full solidarity with Syria. The ministry reiterated its rejection of terrorist acts targeting civilians and public places, describing them as a flagrant violation of humanitarian values and international law.
Egypt also strongly condemned the bombing, reaffirming its rejection of all forms of violence and terrorism aimed at undermining security and stability and terrorizing innocent civilians. Cairo extended its condolences to the Syrian government and people and wished those injured a swift recovery.
Qatar condemned the bombing near the Palace of Justice in Damascus, reiterating its firm rejection of violence, terrorism and criminal acts regardless of their motives. Doha expressed condolences to the victims’ families and to the Syrian government and people.
Jordan likewise condemned the attack, with Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ambassador Sufian Qudah reaffirming the Kingdom’s full solidarity with Syria and its rejection of all forms of violence and terrorism aimed at destabilizing the country. He also reiterated Jordan’s support for Syria’s security, stability, sovereignty, territorial integrity and the safety of its citizens.
Separately, the Syrian Lawyers Syndicate strongly condemned what it described as the criminal bombing near the Palace of Justice, saying the attack targeted a densely populated civilian area adjacent to a judicial facility. The association extended its condolences to the victims’ families and wished the injured a speedy recovery.
Earlier on Thursday, an explosive device detonated inside a café on Al-Nasr Street in the Al-Hijaz district of Damascus, killing six people and injuring 22 others.
