Makkah, Feb. 10 (SANA) – The Muslim World League called for a firm international response to Israeli occupation’s settlement expansion and ongoing violations in the occupied West Bank, warning that such actions threaten regional stability and undermine efforts toward peace.
In a statement carried by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), Secretary‑General Mohammed bin Abdul Karim al‑Issa warned against the “dangerous consequences” of Israel’s continued disregard for international law and humanitarian norms. He said the expansionist policies pursued by the Israeli government are fueling tensions and obstructing diplomatic efforts.
The secretary-general urged the international community to meet its legal and moral obligations by enforcing UN resolutions, the New York Declaration on the two-state solution, International Court of Justice’s advisory opinion affirming the Palestinian people’s right to self‑determination and statehood.
The statement comes amid new Israeli occupation measures aimed at altering the legal and administrative status of the West Bank as part of broader annexation plans that threaten to eliminate prospects for an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.
