IAEA chief : Kazakhstan willing to store Iran’s enriched uranium if deal reached

London, May.30 ( SANA) Kazakhstan has offered to take Iran’s uranium stockpile if the United States and Iran reach an accord on Tehran’s contested nuclear programme, UN nuclear watchdog chief Rafael Grossi told the Financial Times on Friday.
Agence France-Presse quoted Energy Agency chief Rafael Grossi as saying in an interview with Financial Times after his meeting with Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev that Kazakhstan expressed its “openness” to store the stockpile enriched to near weapons grade level .
U.S. President Donald Trump announced earlier today that the naval blockade imposed on Iran “will be lifted now”, stressing the need to immediately open the Strait of Hormuz to international shipping in both directions, while renewing his country’s conditions regarding not allowing Iran to possess a nuclear weapon.
