Beirut, May 29 (SANA) Six people, including a Syrian child, were killed in separate Israeli strikes in Lebanon, according to Lebanese health authorities and state media.
Lebanon’s Health Ministry said an Israeli airstrike on the town of Choueifat in Mount Lebanon province on Thursday evening killed a woman, her infant daughter and a Syrian child. Fifteen other people were wounded, including three children and five women, according to the ministry’s Emergency Operations Center.
In southern Lebanon on Friday, a municipal police officer was killed in an Israeli drone strike on the town of Aba in the Nabatieh district, the state-run National News Agency (NNA) reported.
Civil defense teams later recovered two bodies from the rubble of a house in the town of Tayr Debba, near the coastal city of Tyre, after it was struck by Israeli aircraft shortly after midnight, the agency said.
Separately, an Israeli drone struck a road linking Tayr Debba and Tyre near the Charniyeh junction, causing several injuries.
The NNA also reported heavy Israeli artillery shelling targeting areas around Aba before dawn on Friday, with bombardment resuming later in the morning.
Earlier on Friday, Lebanon’s Health Ministry said the number of casualties resulting from ongoing Israeli attacks in the country since March 2 had reached 13,351, including 3,324 deaths and 10,027 injuries.
