Doha, Feb. 3 (SANA) Qatar said on Monday that the reopening of the Rafah border crossing in southern Gaza was an important step toward facilitating the movement of Palestinians and ensuring the delivery of humanitarian aid to the enclave.
In a statement, the Qatari Foreign Ministry stressed the need for all parties to fully implement the ceasefire agreement and to keep humanitarian crossings open to allow the sustained and unhindered flow of aid into Gaza.
The ministry said Qatar continued to support efforts aimed at advancing a political settlement based on international law and a two-state solution that guarantees the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.
The Rafah crossing between Gaza and Egypt was reopened on Sunday to allow the movement of Palestinians, particularly humanitarian cases including the sick and wounded, after being closed since May 7, 2024, following military operations in the area.
