Seoul, May 28 (SANA) Three South Korean activists accused Israeli forces of abuse and mistreatment during their detention aboard the Freedom Flotilla on May 18, according to Yonhap News Agency.
Speaking at a press conference in Seoul following their release, the activists said they were subjected to physical assault and degrading treatment while in custody.
They also reported harassment and sexual assault against female detainees, while other activists were reportedly beaten during detention.
Activist Kim Dong-hyun said detainees were “beaten repeatedly for five to ten minutes” while their hands were tied with cable restraints, adding that some continued bleeding while in custody.
He also said detainees were forced to watch assaults on fellow activists and were exposed to stun grenades and rubber bullets.
French activists previously detained aboard the flotilla have made similar allegations of violence and humiliation during their arrest.
