Abu Dhabi, May 10 (SANA) The United Arab Emirates Ministry of Defense said Sunday that its air defense systems intercepted two drones approaching the country from Iran.

In a statement carried by the Emirates News Agency, the ministry said UAE air defenses have intercepted 551 ballistic missiles, 29 cruise missiles and 2,265 drones since the start of the Iranian attacks.

The ministry added that no deaths or injuries were reported in recent hours. It said the attacks have so far resulted in civilian fatalities, including a Moroccan contractor working with the UAE armed forces, as well as nationals from Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh, Palestine, India and Egypt.

The ministry affirmed its readiness to confront any threats and respond in a manner that ensures the protection of the country’s security, stability and national interests.

On Friday, the ministry said three people were injured while responding to Iranian drone and ballistic missile attacks.
