UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan meets Austrian Chancellor Christian Stocker in Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi, May 8 (SANA) UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Austrian Chancellor Christian Stocker held talks on Friday focused on expanding bilateral cooperation and strengthening the strategic partnership between their countries.

According to the Emirates News Agency (WAM), the discussions covered cooperation across several sectors, as both sides reaffirmed their commitment to deepening political and economic ties.

The two leaders also reviewed regional and international developments, with particular attention to the situation in the Middle East and its impact on regional and global security.

They discussed the effects of rising regional tensions on freedom of navigation, energy security and global economic stability amid ongoing geopolitical challenges.

Both sides stressed the importance of international coordination and cooperation to support stability and development and address shared global challenges.

Separately, the UAE Ministry of Defense said earlier Friday that the country’s air defenses had intercepted missiles and drones launched from Iranian territory toward several areas in the UAE.
