Abu Dhabi, April 4 (SANA) The UAE Ministry of Defense announced on Saturday that its air defense systems intercepted a series of Iranian ballistic missiles and drones that entered the country’s airspace.
According to the Emirates News Agency (WAM), the ministry stated on its official X account that air defense units successfully intercepted 23 ballistic missiles and 56 drones launched from Iran, bringing the total number of attacks since the beginning of the escalation to 498 ballistic missiles, 23 cruise missiles, and 2,141 drones.
The ministry confirmed that the attacks resulted in the deaths of 10 civilians and the injury of 217 others, in addition to the deaths of two members of the UAE Armed Forces.
Iran continues to carry out attacks against Arab and regional states amid the ongoing U.S.–Israeli–Iranian conflict, which began on February 28 and has caused casualties and material damage to infrastructure across several areas.
