Ankara, 3 April (SANA) Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan affirmed during a phone call with his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, that every step aimed at strengthening stability in Syria serves the shared interests of both Türkiye and Russia.
According to a statement released by the Turkish Presidency’s Communications Directorate and cited by Anadolu Agency, Erdoğan said he is closely following developments in Syria and underscored the importance of safeguarding the gains achieved there.
Regarding the ongoing US–Israeli–Iranian conflict, the statement noted that Ankara is in contact with all parties, focusing on peace and stability to prevent the situation from spiraling out of control. It added that Türkiye does not agree with attacks targeting Iran, while also considering Iran’s retaliatory strikes on regional countries to be inappropriate.
On Israel’s continued aggressive policies against the Palestinians, Erdoğan said Israel must not be allowed to take steps that undermine the legal status of Jerusalem, stressing the need to confront the hostile policies pursued by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government across the region.
