Riyadh, Apr. 1 (SANA) Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Defense said Wednesday that its air defense forces intercepted and destroyed two drones during the past several hours.
The statement, carried by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), quoted ministry spokesperson Maj. Gen. Turki al-Maliki as saying that “air defense forces intercepted and destroyed two drones during the past hours.”
In a separate development, Saudi Civil Defense said Tuesday that two people were injured by falling debris during an operation to intercept a drone in Al-Kharj governorate in central Saudi Arabia.
The incidents come amid continued drone and missile activity affecting parts of the Gulf region since the outbreak of the U.S.-Israeli–Iranian conflict on February 28.
