Abu Dhabi, March 28 (SANA) United Arab Emirates President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelenskyy discussed Saturday the latest developments of security situation in the region amid ongoing military escalation, and its repercussions on regional and international peace and security, as well as its serious impact on international navigation security and the global economy.
Emirates News Agency (WAM) reported that the meeting addressed the ongoing Iranian aggression against the UAE and countries in the region, targeting civilians, facilities, and civilian infrastructure.
The Ukrainian president condemned this aggression, describing it as a violation of state sovereignty, international law, and the UN Charter, and as undermining regional and international peace and security.
For his part, the UAE president stressed his country’s commitment to keeping the region away from escalation and tensions, while affirming that the UAE will continue to defend its sovereignty against Iranian attacks targeting civilians and civilian infrastructure.
The UAE president said that his country supports all efforts and initiatives aimed at achieving sustainable peace in Ukraine.
The two presidents also discussed various aspects of cooperation and joint work, as well as opportunities to develop them within the framework of the comprehensive economic partnership between the two countries, and their mutual commitment to achieving its objectives.
