Qatar and U.S. discuss regional developments and strategic cooperation

Doha, Feb. 11 (SANA) Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar, and U.S. President Donald Trump discussed regional developments and current issues in the Middle East during a telephone conversation Wednesday.

According to a statement from the Emiri Diwan of Qatar, the two leaders exchanged views on major regional and international developments and reviewed efforts to reduce tensions and enhance regional security and stability.

The statement said the discussion emphasized continued coordination on issues of mutual interest and support for diplomatic efforts to address crises through dialogue and peaceful means. The call also reviewed bilateral relations between Qatar and the United States and ways to strengthen cooperation across various fields.

Qatari-American relations are widely regarded as close and cooperative. The two countries have worked together on a range of regional and international issues, with a focus on promoting peace and stability.
