Beirut, March 22 (SANA) Four Lebanese citizens were killed and seven others wounded on Sunday as Israeli airstrikes targeted multiple regions in southern Lebanon. The Lebanese Ministry of Public Health, cited by the National News Agency, confirmed the casualties following a wave of intense aerial bombardments.
According to the Ministry, three individuals were killed and three others injured in a strike on the town of Sultaniyah in the Bint Jbeil district. A separate raid on the town of Sowana in the Marjayoun district resulted in one death and four injuries.
The Israeli Air Force conducted further raids on Yahmor al-Shaqif, Kfar Tibnit, and Nabatieh al-Fawqa. Critically, the al-Qasimia Bridge on the coastal highway was targeted, while the border town of Naqoura faced heavy artillery shelling coordinated with Israeli ground incursions. Artillery fire also reached the outskirts of Bint Jbeil, Ainata, and Hanine.
The Ministry of Health reported that the death toll from Israeli strikes since March 2 has now reached 1,028, with 2,747 others wounded.
Earlier today, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz declared that Israel would prevent any movement of Hezbollah personnel or weapons south of the Litani River. Katz announced that the military has received explicit orders for the “immediate destruction” of all bridges spanning the Litani River in southern Lebanon. Furthermore, he directed the military to accelerate the demolition of Lebanese homes in the border zone facing northern Israel.
