South Korea raises travel alert for seven Arab countries

Seoul, Mar. 9 (SANA) South Korea raised its travel alert for seven Arab countries to Level 3 on Monday, advising its citizens to leave amid escalating tensions linked to the ongoing conflict involving the United States, Israel and Iran.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the advisory was raised from a “special travel warning” to Level 3 and applies to Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Qatar and Kuwait. The warning also includes certain areas of Saudi Arabia and Jordan.

The ministry urged citizens planning to visit these countries to cancel or postpone their trips and called on those currently there to leave unless travel is essential.

The move comes amid growing military escalation in the region, including U.S. and Israeli strikes on Iran and Iranian missile and drone attacks targeting infrastructure and civilian sites in several Arab countries.
