Israeli air drop on outskirts of al-Nabi Shayth in Lebanon leaves  causalities

Beirut, March 7 (SANA) Israeli helicopters carried out a landing operation at dawn Saturday on the outskirts of the town of Al-Nabi Shayth in the Lebanese Bekaa Valley near borders with Syria.

The Lebanese News Agency reported that clashes took place between the Israeli force and members of Hezbollah militia on the heights of the eastern chains, from the direction of the axis of the al-Nabi Shayth – Ham area.

Lebanese sources reported that the Israeli force attempted to reach the town’s cemetery, but its exposure prompted Israeli warplanes to carry out dozens of raids on the area’s villages and mountainous outskirts, in order to secure the force’s withdrawal from the site of the clash.

In turn, the Lebanese Ministry of Health announced that 3 people were killed and 16 others were injured in a preliminary toll of Israeli raids on the town of Al-Nabi Shayth.

The Ministry announced that the number of victims of Israeli raids since last Monday had risen to at least 222, in addition to hundreds wounded.
