Damascus, Apr. 22 (SANA) Foreign Minister Asaad Hassan al-Shaibani said the Gulf tour led by President Ahmad al-Sharaa, which included Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates, focused on strengthening long-standing fraternal relations between Syria and those countries.
Al-Shaibani said the meetings addressed ways to advance economic development and reconstruction efforts, while reaffirming Syria’s position in supporting Arab countries and expressing full solidarity in the face of various threats.
The tour began on Tuesday with a visit to Saudi Arabia, where President al-Sharaa met Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to discuss expanding economic and investment partnerships.
Earlier on Wednesday, President al-Sharaa met in Doha with Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.
He also held talks in Abu Dhabi with UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
During the tour, President al-Sharaa reaffirmed Syria’s solidarity with Arab countries affected by Iranian attacks.
The meetings also addressed strengthening bilateral relations, as well as regional and international developments and ways to coordinate efforts to preserve security and stability in the region.
