Kuwait City, March 4 (SANA) Kuwait’s Defense Ministry announced Wednesday that its air defenses intercepted hostile aerial targets that entered the country’s airspace.
The ministry’s spokesman, Saud al-Atwan, said in a statement quoted by Al-Jarida newspaper that a hostile aerial attack was intercepted at dawn Wednesday, but debris from the interception caused civilian injuries as well as material damage.
The spokesman stressed the armed forces’ continued readiness to protect the country’s sovereignty and its people.
Earlier Wednesday, the Health Ministry confirmed that an 11-year-old girl died after being struck by falling shrapnel in a residential area of Kuwait City.
Tehran has continued targeting several Arab countries, including Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Qatar, with missile and drone attacks following U.S.-Israeli strikes on Iran.
