Riyadh, March 3 (SANA) – Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jasem Mohamed al-Budaiwi said Tuesday that the continuation of Iranian attacks against several Arab states demonstrates Tehran’s attempts to undermine regional and global security and stability.
In a statement published on the GCC’s official website, al-Budaiwi described the attacks on GCC member states as “unjustified and unlawful escalation,” accusing Iran of seeking to destabilize the region.
He renewed his condemnation of Iranian strikes targeting civilian and diplomatic facilities, including US embassy compounds in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait, stressing that GCC states stand united in defending their sovereignty, security and national interests.
On Sunday, the GCC Ministerial Council strongly condemned Iranian attacks against member states and Jordan, describing them as a serious violation of sovereignty and international law.
Since Saturday, Gulf countries and Jordan have been subjected to Iranian missile and drone attacks following joint US-Israeli strikes on Iran.
