Amman, Mar. 2 (SANA) Jordan’s Foreign Ministry summoned Iran’s chargé d’affaires on Sunday and delivered a sharply worded protest over Iranian attacks that hit Jordanian territory and several Arab countries.
The ministry said the strikes represented a flagrant breach of Jordan’s sovereignty and international law, adding that the escalation endangered civilians and threatened regional and global stability.
Ministry spokesperson Fouad al-Majali said Jordan demanded an immediate halt to the attacks and insisted that Iran respect Jordan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. He added that Jordan would take “all necessary steps” to protect its citizens and national security.
The attacks occurred after U.S. and Israeli strikes on Iranian targets.
