Abu Dhabi, May 13 (SANA) UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan discussed Tuesday with U.S. President Donald Trump developments in the Middle East and exchanged views on the situation in the region.
According to the Emirates News Agency (WAM), the two leaders also reviewed strategic cooperation and joint efforts to strengthen relations between the two countries in support of their mutual interests.
The call followed talks held between the two presidents at the beginning of last month, during which they discussed the repercussions of regional tensions on regional and international peace and security, as well as their impact on international shipping and the global economy.
In a related development, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud discussed Tuesday with UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed the latest regional developments and ongoing efforts aimed at enhancing security and stability in the region.
The Saudi Press Agency (SPA) said the two sides also reviewed areas of cooperation between Saudi Arabia and the UAE.
Military escalation in the Middle East has continued for more than two months. On Sunday, President Trump described Iran’s response — delivered through Pakistani mediation regarding U.S. proposals to end the US-Israeli-Iranian conflict — as “unacceptable.”
