Ankara, March 1 (SANA) Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan discussed regional political and military developments in a phone call Sunday with Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, following Iranian attacks that targeted Doha a day earlier.
Turkey’s Directorate of Communications said in a statement that Erdogan was briefed by the Qatari leader on the current situation and the details of the recent strikes, which came amid escalating U.S.-Israeli military action against Iran.
Erdogan expressed solidarity with Qatar and wished the country safety and stability after the attacks, the statement said.
On Saturday, Iran launched ballistic missiles and drones targeting Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Bahrain and Jordan, according to official statements. The attacks followed a joint U.S.-Israeli strike on Iranian territory.
