Abu Dhabi, Feb. 28 (SANA) – The United Arab Emirates Ministry of Defense announced Saturday that its air defense systems successfully intercepted a new wave of Iranian missiles, confirming that the attack was neutralized without casualties or damage.
In a statement posted on the X platform, the ministry said the armed forces remain on high alert and fully prepared to confront any threats targeting the country’s security and stability, stressing that the safety of citizens, residents and visitors remains a top priority.
The ministry added that debris from intercepted missiles fell in several areas of Abu Dhabi, including Saadiyat Island, Khalifa City, Bani Yas, Mohammed bin Zayed City and Al Falah, noting that no injuries were reported.
It described the attack as a “flagrant violation” of national sovereignty and international law, affirming the UAE’s right to take all necessary measures to protect its territory and ensure national security and stability.
The attacks come amid wider regional escalation following Iranian missile attacks targeting several Arab countries in response to a joint U.S.-Israeli strike on Iran.
