New York, Feb. 28 (SANA) The United Nations announced that the UN Security Council will hold an emergency session on Saturday to discuss developments in the Middle East following exchanges of attacks between the United States and Israel on one side and Iran on the other.
A UN source said the meeting is scheduled for 9:00 p.m. GMT at the initiative of France and Bahrain.
Earlier, French President, Emmanuel Macron called for an emergency council session, warning that the current escalation poses a danger to all and must stop.
In a joint statement, France, Germany and the United Kingdom condemned Iranian attacks on Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait and Jordan, stressing their rejection of any actions threatening the region’s security and stability.
