Washington, Jan. 1 (SANA) US military announced Thursday that eight people were killed in strikes that targeted vessels suspected of smuggling drugs.
Agence France-Presse (AFP) quoted US Southern Command as saying in a statement that it had conducted two strikes over the past 48 hours, targeting three vessels that were among drug-smuggling convoy, without specifying the exact location.
Since last September, US forces have carried out more than 30 strikes in the Caribbean and eastern Pacific Oceans against vessels suspected of drug smuggling, leaving about 110 deaths.
