UN Expresses Deep Concern over Renewed Israeli Escalation in Gaza

The United Nations expressed deep concern over the renewed Israeli aggression against the Gaza Strip.

According to Agence France-Presse, UN Secretary-General’s Spokesman Stéphane Dujarric said that the Organization “urges all parties to fully respect their obligations under the Gaza ceasefire.”

The Gaza Civil Defense reported that the Israeli forces carried out airstrikes on the Strip on Sunday, claiming the lives of at least 45 Palestinians, in a development that threatens the ceasefire in effect in the Strip since October 10.

The International Summit on Peace in the Middle East was held on October 9 in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt, with broad international participation. Leaders of the United States, Turkey, Qatar, and Egypt signed a document endorsing the Gaza ceasefire deal
