The Speaker of the Arab Parliament, Mohammed bin Ahmed Al-Yamahi, called for advancing efforts to leverage the growing international recognition of Palestine into a tangible reality, ensuring the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.
In a speech delivered at the consultative meeting of the Arab Group of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), ahead of the 151st General Assembly of the Union in Geneva, Al-Yamahi stressed the need to redouble efforts to mobilize both Arab and international support. These efforts, he emphasized, are crucial for rebuilding the Gaza Strip and mitigating the effects of Israeli aggression, as well as addressing the humanitarian suffering endured by its people.
The “Two-State Solution Conference,” held on September 22nd at the UN General Assembly headquarters in New York, reaffirmed recognition of the State of Palestine and called on the international community to move from words to action.
