The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) announced Tuesday that 12 of its facilities in Gaza has been directly or indirectly hit by Israeli shelling between 11 and 16 of September 2025.
In a statement published on its official website, UNRWA said: “among the targeted facilities are 9 schools in addition to two health centers, were housing more than 11 thousands displaced people” noting that its activities in Gaza city have decreased “significantly” due to the deterioration of the security situation.
It added that “this massive destruction which affected Gaza’s infrastructure, in addition to severe disorders in humanitarian operations and imposed restrictions on access”, severely disrupt the last remaining lifeline for civilians in the city.
On the 16th of this month, the Independent International Commission of Inquiry concluded that Israel “committed genocide”, stating that Israel prevented relief agencies, including UNRWA, from delivering essential and life-saving aid, with the aim of “physical destruction of Palestinians in Gaza through harsh living conditions.”
Palestinian medical sources announced that 65,344 Palestinians were killed and 166,795 others were injured as a result of the ongoing Israeli offensive on the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023.
