Arab League condemns Israeli attacks on Doha, affirms solidarity with Qatar

Cairo, SANA- The Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, condemned in the strongest terms the attack launched and claimed by Israel on civilian residential buildings in the Qatari capital, Doha.

Spokesman for the Secretary-General, Jamal Rushdi, said: “The targeting is a flagrant and unacceptable violation of the sovereignty of the State of Qatar, which has sought, since the beginning of the war on Gaza, with Egypt and the United States, to mediate a ceasefire. Qatar has exerted remarkable and sincere efforts to put an end to the war of extermination that Israel continues to wage in Gaza.”

He added: “The Arab League stands in solidarity with the State of Qatar against this blatant attack on its sovereignty and in any measures it takes to protect its sovereignty and safeguard its security.”

The spokesman stressed that Israeli behavior has become a violation of all established international norms and the principles of established international law, placing a firm responsibility on the international community in dealing with this state that flouts the law and does not care about the consequences of its shameful actions.
