Belgium: What is happening in Gaza is a genocide

Brussels, SANA – Belgian Foreign Minister Maxime Prévost said that what the Palestinian people are being subjected to in the Gaza Strip is a clear genocide, noting that his country’s upcoming recognition of the State of Palestine during the UN General Assembly meetings constitutes a “strong message” to Israel.

In a statement to Anadolu Agency today, Prévost said, “What is happening in Gaza is clearly genocide, and we had to send a strong message to Israel that it must stop expanding illegal settlements and refrain from obstructing the delivery of humanitarian aid to the Palestinian people.”

Prévost stressed the need to implement the two-state solution, saying, “If we truly want the two-state solution, as the name suggests, we must work to achieve it, but the current position of the Israeli government puts this solution in danger.”
