Geneva, SANA – The President of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), Mirjana Spoljaric, warned that it is impossible to preserve the safety of Palestinians during the mass evacuation of Gaza City, as Israel intensifies its aggression against the Gaza Strip, stressing that it is an impossible and unsafe operation.
The Palestinian WAFA news agency quoted Spoljaric as saying in a statement on Saturday that “it is impossible to carry out a mass evacuation of Gaza City in a safe and dignified manner under the current circumstances,” adding: “The evacuation will lead to a mass displacement of the population that no other area in the Strip can absorb, amid a severe shortage of food, shelter, and medical supplies.”
Since October 7, 2023, Israel has been waging a genocidal war in Gaza, including killing, starvation, destruction, and forced displacement, ignoring orders from the International Court of Justice to halt the operation, all UN resolutions, and international appeals for a ceasefire and the unhindered entry of humanitarian aid into the Strip.
