Health Ministry holds a Workshop to Assess Staff Emigration

Damascus-SANA-The Ministry of Health, in cooperation with the Syriana Foundation, organized on Wednesday a workshop titled “Future  Project”, in order to Localizing Health staff in Syria and Activating a constructive role of the  migration in Supporting Local staff in Damacus.

The two-day workshop will discuss the current state of health crew migrating, its economic impacts, and its implications for health services.

The workshop dealt with the issue of Syria suffering from  a shortage of health workers and those with rare specialties.

The European Union’s health sector official, Ada Costa-Relli, highlighted the need to work to limit the migration of crew, as it significantly impacts the health sector and the quality of services provided.

She also highlighted the need to identify the factors behind this migration, which deprives Syria of a skilled workforce, and to work diligently to preserve it.

Statistics were taken from various  provinces regarding the migration of medical staff  that reached at a rate of 50 to 100 research ones in each province.
