Geneva, SANA- Health Minister, Dr. Musab al-Ali, discussed with Chris Elias, the President of Global Development at the Gates Foundation on Tuesday joint cooperation in the health care systems.
Talks on the sidelines of the 78th World Health Assembly in Geneva, focused on cooperation in the areas of polio eradication, strengthening epidemiological surveillance systems, and child and maternal health and nutrition.
The Minister expressed Syria’s readiness to extend an official invitation to Mr. Bill Gates to visit Syria, to brief him on the Syrian experience and discuss the possibility of joint cooperation.
Mr. Elias welcomed the initiative and expressed the foundation’s willingness to develop cooperation with Syria to support efforts of promoting public health and improving health indicators.
