Aleppo, SANA-The Aleppo Health Directorate, in collaboration with al-Razi Surgical Hospital and in coordination with the “Shifa” campaign organized by the Medical Office of the Syrian Assembly in Germany, held a scientific lecture Tuesday titled “Interventional Radiology and Its Medical Applications,” with the participation of a distinguished group of doctors and specialists.Supported by German "Shifa" Campaign… Lecture on interventional radiology held in Aleppo

The lecture, hosted at the hospital’s conference hall, featured Dr. Abdullah al-Sabti, a consultant in interventional and diagnostic radiology from Germany, and Dr. Ahmad Haidari, a doctor at Ibn Sina Hospital in Gaziantep, Turkey. The initiative aimed to enhance knowledge exchange and support Syria’s healthcare system.

Dr. al-Sabti told SANA that the lecture’s goal was “to introduce this modern specialty, which represents the future of medicine, as it reduces reliance on traditional surgical procedures, alleviates pain, shortens recovery periods, and lowers costs for the healthcare sector.”Supported by German "Shifa" Campaign… Lecture on interventional radiology held in Aleppo

He added, “Through the Shifa campaign, we work to support healthcare and patient treatment while enhancing medical efficiency through practical workshops that translate theoretical knowledge into field applications.”

Dr. Haidari further noted that the lecture focused on “simplifying concepts of interventional radiology and clarifying its uses in diagnosing and treating diseases without surgical intervention.”

He emphasized that “the Shifa campaign strives to sustain such initiatives, particularly in training new doctors, as it is our duty as Syrians toward our homeland.”

This lecture is part of the Shifa campaign’s medical activities, which were launched by over 90 Syrian doctors residing in Germany under the auspices of the Medical Office of the Syrian Assembly. The initiative is carried out in collaboration with the Independent Doctors Organization and the Syrian Ministry of Health.

The campaign, under the slogan “Hand in Hand for Syria,” aims to provide urgent medical aid to patients unable to access treatment due to the deteriorating healthcare infrastructure following years of war and sanctions.

The campaign’s activities in Syria began earlier this week, offering free services, including surgeries, consultations, and detailed examinations, with a focus on the most affected areas. The efforts are set to continue until April 26.
