Aleppo, March 27 (SANA) – Syria’s Health Ministry is preparing to launch a sub-national vaccination campaign to strengthen routine immunization against polio in four provinces, officials said.
The campaign, scheduled from March 31 to April 22, will be carried out in Deir Ezzor, Raqqa, Hasakah and eastern rural Aleppo in cooperation with local health directorates.
Health officials said the effort aims to administer the oral polio vaccine to children from birth to five years old, with a focus on reaching those who have missed routine vaccinations.
Preparations discussed during a coordination meeting in Aleppo included improving access to remote areas and ensuring wider vaccine coverage to protect children from preventable diseases.
The campaign forms part of broader efforts by the Health Ministry to strengthen routine immunization and reduce the number of unvaccinated children.
