Damascus, Dec. 11 (SANA) Health Minister Musab al-Ali met Thursday with a delegation from the Italian Sant’Egidio Community, headed by Mauro Garofalo, to discuss ways to strengthen and develop joint cooperation in the health sector and improve services provided to citizens.
During the meeting held at the Ministry’s headquarters in Damascus, Minister al‑Ali emphasized the importance of building sustainable strategic relations with the international organization in a way that serves the interests of both sides.
Mauro Garofalo clarified that the organization is working on a project in Syria to support health coverage, train and qualify medical staff, and potentially assist with infrastructure development.
Sant’Egidio is a global Catholic humanitarian association based in Rome, founded in 1968, known for its social service, conflict resolution, peace mediation, and humanitarian initiatives.
