Damascus, Aug. 16 (SANA) Syria expressed its condolences to the government and people of Indonesia following a devastating earthquake that struck several areas of the country, leaving dozens dead and causing injuries and extensive damage.
In a statement posted on Telegram, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates reaffirmed Syria’s solidarity with Indonesia, expressing condolences to the families of the victims and wishing the injured a speedy recovery.
The ministry also expressed support for rescue and relief teams working to save lives in areas affected by the earthquake.
The death toll from the earthquake, which struck off the coast of Flores island in eastern Indonesia on Saturday morning, rose to 38, while 13 people were injured.
