Ministry of Health affirms full commitment to providing medical care to all Syrians

Damascus, SANA-Ministry of Health said Saturday that since the first moment the events broke out, the Ministry activated a health emergency plan and formed a technical follow-up team that works continuously to ensure a rapid response, this plan includes ambulances, medicines, blood units and blood products from the Central Blood Bank, in addition to medical equipment and supplies and specialized staff.

The Ministry told SANA in a statement that it is working in direct coordination with the health directorates in Sweida, Daraa, Damascus, and Damascus countryside to provide immediate emergency care to the injured, including the admission of critical cases to specialized hospitals.

The Ministry stated: “So far, 1,698 cases have been received, ranging in severity from mild to moderate, including 425 critical cases. Responses were provided by 57 ambulances, with 1,022 cases transferred to other provinces. The number of martyrs has reached 260.”

The ministry noted that it had prepared an emergency medical convoy since the third day of the conflict, consisting of 20 ambulances, specialized medical teams, and large quantities of medicines and supplies. However, the intense bombardment prevented the convoy from entering to ensure the safety of the personnel.
